Matt Hammond moody, atmospheric music that will leave you both shaken and stirred. The haunting vocals and driving guitar work create a visceral experience that is both melancholic and uplifting, taking you on a journey through the darkest recesses of the human psyche

Kochan Peter Steele vibes are strong here. I imagine this album re edited by Caretaker with even more reverberation and this old analog vinyl scratches and noises. should be a transcending experience

needlefreak This album is a haunting masterpiece, with each track drawing you in with its melancholic melodies and introspective lyrics. The atmospheric guitar riffs and reverberated vocals create an eerie and immersive experience that transports you to a world of darkness and introspection

about

See Godlike Storm: ambient / experimental / post rock / post punk / goth rock/ art rock / cinematic / introspective

Recorded late in the summer of 2022 in Ontario Canada by the enigmatic J. Hammond, the album “To those we hate” aims to experiment with a completely new sound and aesthetic for the one man band. Recorded acoustically, and all on cassette tapes, this full length album crafts an often melancholic, yet beautiful soundscape through tangible classic instrumentation.

All of these songs were recorded in one take, with some having effects or interludes added after the cassette recording of the drums, guitars and bass. Each song carries a specific meaning, based around events that happened shortly before or during recording, or based on personality flaws and uncomfortable self reflections.

“Arachnid, the initial track, is about my OCD and struggling with the effects it has on me each day. Melted together is about me and my girlfriend getting to see each other again after an extended period of living far away from one another, and taking a walk by the water. Each song carries a specific meaning to me.”

“To those we hate” is the first full length release by the band.
